Job Summary

The Relationship Manager's primary responsibility is to attract and secure deposits both fixed deposits and CASA from individuals, businesses, and organizations. The role's main goal is to grow the bank's deposit base against assigned targets, ensuring the steady availability of funds to support lending and other banking activities.

Responsibilities

  • Actively identify and pursue opportunities to attract new depositors and grow the bank's deposit base, with consistent delivery against assigned targets.
  • Implement marketing strategies and campaigns to promote deposit products and services to potential customers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing customers to encourage repeat business, balance growth, and referrals.
  • Assess customers' financial needs, risk tolerance, and investment objectives to recommend suitable deposit products.
  • Explain the features, benefits, and terms of deposit products to customers, ensuring they understand the offerings.
  • Process account applications, complete required documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Present the bank's fixed deposit and CASA offerings clearly and persuasively to clients, highlighting key features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
  • Drive cross-selling opportunities for other banking products and services to deepen customer relationships.
  • Monitor performance against assigned deposit targets, escalating shortfalls and proposing corrective action where needed.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management for product improvement or development, informed by deposit performance trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years' experience in a relationship management, sales, or deposit mobilization role within a bank or financial institution.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding deposit and sales targets.
  • Sound understanding of banking products, particularly fixed deposits and current/savings accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of KYC/AML and regulatory compliance requirements for account opening.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building ability, with an existing client base an advantage.
  • Good analytical skills to assess customer needs and recommend suitable products.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet set targets within tight timelines.
